Lubutu, DR Congo – February 2011 MSF took over the running of Lubutu General Reference Hospital in Maniema Province, Democratic Republic of Congo in 2006. The aims were to reduce the extremely high mortality levels in this remote rural area and to share with the Ministry of Health MSF’s experiences of how best to do this. The hospital is due to be handed back to the Ministry of Health in December 2011 after 5 years of MSF management. Photo: DR Congo © Robin Meldrum/MSF

This affects women the most - maternal mortality rates here are 75 percent higher than the national average. MSF goals in Karamoja’s Kaabong district are to strengthen government health services and to reach people who otherwise can’t get to health facilities.

One.org does great work.  #DamatosAngels

This is just a reminder that every gesture means something bigger to someone. Here’s to the Angels who donated the dresses and the Angels who are going to have a magical night at the prom because of them!  #DamatosAngels

promdress:

Our friends at Cure Thrift Shop so generously donated 16 dresses and 10 pairs of shoes to the Lower East Side Girls Club prom dress drive!  They’re our favorite!
If you’re cleaning out your closet and donating dresses to the drive, donate your non-prom dresses to Cure, benefiting the Diabetes Research Institute, at 111 East 12th Street, NY, NY.
For more info on how to help us in our efforts to collect prom dresses for the LES Girls Club, check out our post here! :)
